In 2025 Joyce wrote The Sound Designer's Phenomenological Field Guide to help introduce students and early career sound designers to the world of phenomenological sound design.
The Field Guide is an introductory text that covers basic sound physics as well as a breakdown of 14 observable sound phenomena with potential design uses for each.
